We primarily offer NRA focused training courses where students are tested and certificates are earned. Please see the Courses page for more details.

We also offer basic firearms skills refresher courses for those that just want to brush up on some basic skills as well as at the range shooting instruction.

Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit

Here at PBFT we believe in ensuring students can safely and effectively have every advantage in maintaining their personal Safety and security.
Our Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) course, commonly referred to as a Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) class will ensure that you are fully trained on elements required by Colorado Law Which changed on July 1, 2025.
This course will cover:
* Knowledge and safe handling of firearms and ammunition;
* Safe storage of firearms and child safety;
* Safe shooting fundamentals;
* Federal and state laws pertaining to the lawful purchase, ownership, transportation, use, and possession of firearms;
* State law pertaining to the use of deadly force for self-defense;
* Best practices for safely interacting with law enforcement personnel who are responding to an emergency; and
* Techniques for avoiding a criminal attack and how to manage a violent confrontation, including conflict resolution and judgmental use of lethal force.

What we provide

We will ensure that every student knows the NRA's basic principles of firearm safety which include:
*Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction
*Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot
*Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

We will teach you:
*How to properly grip (hold) your firearm
*Target acquisition
*Sight alignment and sight picture
*How to control your Trigger press

All in order to provide the student with the ability to safely and confidently hit their target.
